Tournament Policies
Entry Fee Policy: All team registration fees must be received by the Tournament Director per the Team Registration Fee Schedule in General Information.
Age Eligibility Policy: Each player must be the age of his respective age division by December 31, 2010. All players must have a photo ID in the form of a state issued driver’s license, passport, or military identification at all times in the event of an age inquiry.
Team Roster Policy: Each team must submit their tournament team roster in electronic format no later than October 1, 2009. Only MSBL roster forms will be accepted. MSBL roster forms can be downloaded from the “Registration Forms” link above ".
Player and Team Waiver and Liability Policy: By registering and participating in the 2010 Chesapeake MSBL Columbus Day Regional Baseball Tournament, each participating team, player, manager, coach, and/or team spectators realizes that the total responsibility for any injury, accident, incident, illness, or death to any person on the team or damage or destruction of property of the team while participating in the 2010 Chesapeake MSBL Columbus Day Regional Baseball Tournament activity, game, practice, or function, including, but not limited to any Chesapeake MSBL and its League Officer(s), Tournament Director(s), Tournament Committee, and League Member(s) mandated or scheduled functions are solely the responsibility of the individual players and teams. Teams, Managers, and Players will fully realize that any costs incurred for any reason are the teams or its team manager and players.
Each Team Manager must download and sign the 2010 Chesapeake MSBL Columbus Day Regional Baseball Tournament Team Participation Agreement from the Chesapeake MSBL Website downloadable from the “Registration Forms” link above. The Team Participation Agreement Form and individual Player Waiver Forms must be received no later than October 1, 2010 before a team will be permitted to participate in the tournament.
Adverse Weather Policy: The 2010 Chesapeake MSBL Columbus Day Regional Tournament may be played in adverse weather conditions as long as player, umpire, and spectator safety is not compromised. Umpires will have final discretion regarding starting or stopping play due to adverse weather (i.e. lightning, rain, etc.). However, the game clock will continue to run during any delay. The Chesapeake MSBL and its Tournament Director(s) reserves the right to change the format of the tournament to lesser time limits, fewer innings, rearrange schedule, rearrange game locations, or reduce the round-robin or play-off format by whatever means is necessary to complete the tournament.
Adverse Weather Refund Policy: There will be a $150 non-refundable administration fee charged to each team in the event of a complete rain out of the tournament to cover pre-tournament expenses (i.e. Trophies, T-shirts, Field Reservation Fees, etc.). If as a result of adverse weather a partial or full cancellation of the tournament occurs, the tournament fee refund structure is as follows: one (1) game played, $315 of entry will be refunded; if two games are played, $155 of entry fee will be refunded; if three (3) or more games are played, there is no refund given.
Pre-Tournament Refund Policy: No refund will be issued once the tournament brackets or tournament schedule has been posted unless games are cancelled. In this case, the refund schedule for adverse weather will be honored. If the tournament brackets or tournament schedule has not been posted and you e-mail to cancel your team's participation in the tournament by October 1, 2010, a full refund minus the $150 administration fee will be issued. Cancellations after October 1, 2010, will result in forfeiture of 100% of Team Registration Fees.
Deleted Division Refund Policy: The Chesapeake MSBL and its Tournament Director(s) reserve the right to add, delete, merge or create divisions or divisional formats based on the number of teams entered at any time before the tournament and will make every effort to provide affected teams with advance notice. If a team planned to enter a deleted division, that team may play in another division or receive a full refund minus the $150 administration fee.
Special Start and Field Request Policy: Before entering the 2010 Chesapeake MSBL Columbus Day Regional Baseball Tournament, please ensure your players and team are committed to the tournament throughout the duration of the Columbus Day Weekend and avoid other conflicts that may result in having insufficient players to field a team. The Chesapeake MSBL and its Tournament Director(s) will accommodate teams to the best of our ability for teams traveling from distant locations. However, teams must be prepared to play at their designated time and location as posted on the tournament schedule. In case of inclement weather or pending inclement weather, teams should be ready to take the field and begin play at 9 am on Saturday, October 9, 2010.
