Member Bio:

Dan began playing baseball in the Severna Park Green Hornets Program at the age of 7 and began playing travel baseball for the Green Hornets at the age of 12. He was a two year starter for Severna Park HS and played short stop, second base, and pitched.

After High School, he joined the Arundel Star unlimited team and later became player/manager of the team from 1981 to 1992. He attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) where he was a 3-year starter and was selected as All Middle Atlantic Conference his Sophomore and Junior years. In 1984, Dan became an Assistant Coach at Western Maryland College where they won the conference title. In 1988, Dan managed the baseball team at Chesapeake College and then went on to become an Assistant Coach at Anne Arundel Community College in 1989 and 1990.

Dan joined the Chesapeake MSBL in 1993 where he earned the league MVP award while playing for the Crofton Rockies. From 1994 to 2000, Dan managed the Chesapeake Dodgers from 1994 through 2000. Dan was also a member of the Chesapeake Braves 28+ Central Divsion MSBL Fall Classic Championship team in 1998 and the 1999 28+ National Division MSBL Fall Classic Runner-up team. Dan played with the Chesapeake Braves on several of their MSBL Regional Championship teams as well. Dan remained a player for the Chesapeake Dodgers and was a key cog in the Dodgers winning the Chesapeake MSBL Championship with a perfect 26-0 record in 2004. Dan "retired" from playing in the Chesapeake MSBL after a perfect season in 2004 to focus on coaching his son's youth baseball teams.

Dan coached the Elvaton Recreation 6 and 7 year olds in 2000 and 2001. From 2002 through 2009, he coached the Severna Park Green Hornets Travel, Select, and the Serverna Park Fall High School Teams. In 2010, he coached the Severna Park 16U Mickey Mantle Division to a perfect 20-0 championship season. For his accomplishments with the youth baseball programs, Dan was recognized by the Friends of Joe Cannon Stadium with the Pop Warner Award for the "Top Contributor to Youth Baseball".

Dan is the 13th member inducted into the Chesapeake MSBL Hall of Fame. His induction took place on February 18 , 2012.
