Member Bio:

Frank grew up playing youth baseball in the Linthicum-Ferndale Youth Athletic Association (LFYAA) through the 1960s and also played youth football in the same organization.

After playing youth baseball, he also managed youth baseball, soccer, football, and basketball teams in the LFYAA and led several of these teams to league championships in 1974, 1994, and 1997.

In 1980, Frank played for the US Marine Corps Softball Team and continued playing softball in the Anne Arundel County Adult Softball Program from 1981-1991. In 1992, Frank rediscovered his love and passion for the game of baseball and started playing with a team called the Braves. In 1993, the Braves changed the team name to Jaguars. In 1994, in what was then known as the Anne Arundel County Old Timers League, the team changed names to the Jaguars. In 1996, the team changed its name to the White Sox which still exists today.

While managing the Chesapeake White Sox from 1997-2007 in the former Baltimore Area Senior Baseball Association which merged with the Chesapeake MSBL to form our 35+ and 45+ Divisions, Frank led the team to league championships in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004. Frank was the first of the former member of the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Area Senior Baseball Association to support the merger with the Chesapeake MSBL.

Frank continues to play with the Chesapeake White Sox in the 45+ Division and has contributed to the team’s Chesapeake MSBL League Championships in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. He has participated in several MSBL Regional Championships including our own Labor Day and Columbus Day Regional MSBL Tournaments. Since 2003 he has also participated in the Roy Hobbs World Series in Fort Myers, Florida.

In 2010, Frank was the recipient of the Chesapeake MSBL Sportsmanship Award.

Frank Carter is the 15th member of the Chesapeake MSBL Hall of Fame. His induction into the Chesapeake MSBL Hall of Fame took place on February 16, 2013. His number, 28, has been retired from All Star Game play.
